Ilham Rahimov - Partner of FINA LLP.
Doctor of Law - having defended the doctoral thesis on criminal law at Leningrad State University became the youngest Doctor of Law in the USSR in 1988.
1975-1978 - post-graduate at criminal law chair, Law faculty of Leningrad State University, earned academic degree PhD of Law.
1970-1975 - Law faculty of Leningrad State University graduated with honors.
1992-1996 - director of the Institute on Research Legal Expertise, Criminalistics and Criminology Problems of the Ministry of Justice.
1982-1992 - head of the legislation department of the Ministry of Justice and member of the Collegiums. During these years drafted great number of statutory acts and operated projects on bills drafting. Simultaneously was the Chairman of Azerbaijan Lawyers’ Union.
1980-1982 - head of the section of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan Republic.
1978-1980 - worked in Philosophy and Law Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Republic.
Doctor of Law, Professor Ilham Rahimov is the author of about 100 scientific articles, 10 monographies devoted to fundamental problems of criminal law, reformatory law, legislation and judicial field. He is the first author of the Concept on Judicial Legal Reform drafted in 1992-93. He was the member of expert group that drafted the state program on struggle against criminality in 1994 and first bill «On struggle against corruption» in Azerbaijan in 1995.
In April, 2004 Doctor of Law, Professor Ilham Rahimov was elected the academician of the Russian Academy of Safety, Defense and Legality which is one the most prestigious academies of Russia. He is the second Azerbaijani being conferred the rank of the academician of the Russian Academy of Safety, Defense and Legality.
In 2005 Doctor of Law, Professor Ilham Rahimovwas decorated with a Great Peter's minor order «for the personal contribution to the development of friendshipand collaboration between Russia and Azerbaijan» by the Russian Academy of Safety, Defense and Legality. He is the first Azerbaijani being rewarded with this supreme award of Russia.
Mr. Rahimov is also an honorary president of "Sindo-Ryu Karate-Do" Federation.
